In 1908, the late John Nester was doing odd jobs as a self-employed worker. For one job, he drove his horse and wagon to the O&W Railroad station to pick up building stone that had been shipped from Medina and delivered it to the construction site for St. Mary's Church on Marvin St. He was joined over the years by his sons, Daniel and John T., and later his grandson, Jack, joined the family business.
Today, Jack's son, John, and his wife Cathy, own and operate Nester Brothers Contractors, Inc. They specialize in excavation, site preparation, water and sewer line installation and repair, demolition, trucking and land clearing, as well as winter snowplowing, snow removal, salting, and sanding.
Nester Brothers is the oldest, continuously family-run business in Clinton. John and his dedicated employees work with pride on both residential and commercial projects.
